Ten days. One tent. Endless memories.
Several years ago, my girls and I packed up and headed to Utah for ten days of tent camping. Most nights we stayed on BLM land, where there were no bathrooms, no showers, and very few conveniences. Every day meant finding a new campsite, pitching the tent, hiking for miles in the desert heat, cooling off in the river whenever we could, cooking over a campfire, and falling asleep beneath some of the most incredible stars we’ve ever seen.
By the end of the trip we were exhausted. Sunburned beyond belief. Dirty. Sore. There were moments when we wondered what we had gotten ourselves into.
But when I look back now, I don’t remember the discomfort.
I remember standing at the edge of canyons that took my breath away. I remember laughing around the campfire, discovering places we’d never imagined, and sharing ten uninterrupted days with my girls that I’ll treasure forever.
It reminds me a lot of a real estate transaction.
Sometimes it feels overwhelming. There are inspections, paperwork, unexpected obstacles, and moments where it seems like you’re working so hard without seeing the finish line. It can feel confusing while you’re in the middle of it.
But then one day the papers are signed, the keys change hands, and you realize every step had a purpose.
Just like those trails through Utah, some of life’s most rewarding journeys aren’t the easiest ones. They’re the ones that challenge us, teach us, and leave us grateful we kept going.
That’s why I always tell my clients… trust the process. We’ll get there together. And when we do, the view is worth it.
